On the 16th of April 2019 I visited a woman called Wendy claiming to have otherworldly psychic powers, in a desperate attempt to gain some reassurance about the unsure direction my life was heading in at this time. Wendy reassured me everything she would say is 100% true and boasted to have been used by our local police to help solve murder cases. My work titled ‘Psychic Predictions’ follows the profound impact the reading left on my world view and the difficult readjustment of incorporating my new knowledge and values, into my daily life. Creating this work forced me to confront a lot of my irrational fears and let go of worries that were holding me back from living in the moment and fully connecting with my family. Psychic Predictions, I feel, within a wider context, comments on our time related anxiety and how the terrifying concept of forever can affect how we experience our now.
